Larson
Barbara Larson, age 61, of
Hudson, and formerly of Eau Claire, died peacefully Sunday evening,
October 20, 2002, at her home following an illness with cancer. Barb was
born on June 20, 1941, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the daughter of Wilton
and Betty (McClay) Burr.
She received her education in Eau Claire graduating from Memorial High
School. Following this, she furthered her education at the Minnesota
School of Business in Minneapolis. With her training, she began working
for American National Bank in Eau Claire. She began as a teller and
advanced to Supervisor of drive-through. On January 29, 1966, she was
united in marriage with LaVerne "Vern" Larson at St. John’s Lutheran
Church in Eau Claire. This union was blessed with two daughters, Amee and
Kari. In 1968, Vern was transferred with Northern States Power (NSP) to
Minneapolis where they lived for as short time. In 1972, they made Hudson
their home. After the kids were grown, she worked as a hostess at the
Hudson House for several years. Barb thoroughly enjoyed spending time at
their lake home on Bone Lake. She also enjoyed fishing, boating, and
spending time with family and friends. Her fun attitude and caring
demeanor brought smiles to many people.
Barb leaves behind to celebrate her life her husband LaVerne of Hudson;
two daughters Amee (Harold Brown) Larson of Eagan, Kari Larson of Hudson;
granddaughter Taylor; father Wilton Burr; and sister Kathlyn (Tim) Berg of
Eau Claire; nephews Ryan Berg of Eau Claire and Adam Berg of River Falls.
Her mother, Betty Burr, preceded her in death.
Celebration of Life and a time to remember the life of Barb Larson will be
held Wednesday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. at the O’Connell Family Funeral
Home of Hudson. Funeral service and burial will be private.
