Carol Rysticken
April 11, 1941 — December 18, 2023
Carol Rysticken passed on December 18, 2023. Carol was born in Eau
Claire Wisconsin then moved to FL and TN where she raised her three
daughters. She went back to school and earned two associate degrees and
embarked on a career as a seminar coordinator which ignited her love for
travel.
For many years, she resided with her friend and sister, Marilynn, and
they had many great adventures together. In 2020, they moved to Cape
Coral, FL where they hosted lots of family visits and enjoyed watching
sunsets by the pool.
Always the night owl, Carol loved life and never grew old. She had a
smile that lit up the room and made friends wherever she went. She was a
take-charge person and did everything full steam ahead but was always
the first one to offer support when needed. Her favorite things in life
besides her family and friends were playing cards, horseback riding, and
bargain hunting. It was her mission to always find the perfect gift. She
was an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining, especially weekends with
her poker girls. She was one of the luckiest people we knew, and we were
all lucky to have her in our lives.
Carol will be sorely missed by her daughters Gail Smallen (Rodger),
Vickie Rysticken, Julie Donnelly (Brian) and sister Marilynn and brother
Jim Brown (Rhonda). She is also survived by her three grandchildren,
Christen Dabney, Tyler Dabney, Christopher Ottinger (Stephanie) and six
great-grandchildren.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Dorothy Brown, her
sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy and Tom Hessler and Ginger and Steve
Elliott, and her son-in-law Terry Dabney.
