Daniel Curtis Roscoe
Daniel Curtis
Roscoe, 76, of Las Vegas, passed away Oct. 1, 2016. He was born in
Madison, Wis., to Sherman and Dorothy Roscoe. He is survived by his
brother, Norman (Nancy); special friend, Karen Greenwald; children, Duane
(Jill), Darren and Devon (Preston); grandchildren, Peyton, Parker, Dustin
(Isal'alani), Dillon, Donald and Danielle; great-grandchildren, Dane and
Alameia; and many close friends.
In his teen years, his family moved to Eau Claire, Wis., where he was a
star football player with the Old Abes at Eau Claire Memorial High School.
In 1960, he moved to Las Vegas, where he drove a limo and provided tours
of the Hoover Dam.
In 1962, he moved on to the Sands Hotel and Casino and in 1988, he became
a bell captain at the Sands, where he believed it not to be a job, but to
be paid to work at the best country club in the world. He met and made
many friends from all over the world, giving him countless stories to
tell. His fellow employees at the Sands became his family and remained
that way to the very end.
Danny was an avid hunter and fisherman and could always share a funny
story, which were actually true. Danny loved people and was never slow to
befriend someone. He was a father to many and best friend to more. If you
knew Danny Roscoe, you were truly fortunate and you know he never had a
bad day in his life.
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate
them and a day to love them. But, it takes an entire lifetime to forget
them. We will never forget Danny Roscoe for the good times, memories and
the way he made us feel.
Celebration of life will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at The Summit, 2215
Thomas Ryan Blvd., Las Vegas. "Rest in peace, Danny. We love you."
