Dennis W. Murphy, 69, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Luther Hospital.

Dennis was born August 7, 1941 to Delbert and Helen Murphy. Denny graduated from Memorial High School in 1959 and joined the U.S. Navy. He served his country for 4 years on the U.S.S. Randolph on a flight crew. He has been happily married to his wife Pat for 45 years.

Denny was a member of the VFW, Post 7232 and the American Legion, Post 53. He was owner of Murphy's 3 Mile Inn for 20 years and later worked for Cloeren (Production Component) until he retired. He loved the outdoors, gardening, birds, and traveling. He will be missed and loved by all.

Denny is survived by his wife, Pat; son, Scott (Deanna) and his sister, Violet Schneider.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marion Bradford and three brothers, David, Marvin and Bobby.

Funeral services will be 5:00 PM Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Smith Funeral Chapel with Father George Szews officiating. Friends may call from 3:00 PM until time of service.
