Dennis E. Steinke

 

Dennis E. Steinke, 77, of Lake Hallie, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019, at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

He was born on November 3, 1941, in Eau Claire, to Ira and Dorothy (Smith) Steinke. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1959. He worked at Ruhe Beverage Distributor and in 1967 he went to work for Uniroyal until the plant closed in 1992. Dennis married Judy (Bonnin) Shemick on February 6, 1982 in Lake Hallie and they raised 6 children.

Dennis and Judy loved to travel, go camping and fishing. Dennis was also an avid hunter. He loved to do anything outdoors.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Michael (Evonne) Steinke, Susan (Jim) Steinberg, Denise (Randy) Kuhnert, Jay (Tina) Shemick, John (Peggy) Shemick; son-in-law, Trent Mueller; grandchildren; great grandchildren; brothers, Don (Jean) Steinke, Richard Steinke, Paul (Diane) Steinke, Charlie (Mary) Steinke and Jim (Bev) Steinke; and many nieces and nephews.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Dorothy Steinke; brother, Jerry Steinke; beloved step daughter, Jodie Mueller.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Moose Club, 3606 Curvue Road in Eau Claire. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the Moose Club.
