Duane W. Berg
Duane W. Berg, age 63, of Eau
Claire died suddenly on Wednesday, July 14, 2004, in Wakefield, R.I.
Duane was born on June 14, 1941, to the late Thilman and Muriel (Wickham)
Berg in Eau Claire. In 1959, he graduated from Memorial High School. Duane
proudly served our country in the Navy and was stationed at Guantanamo Bay
during the Cuban Missile Crisis. On June 24, 1967, Duane married Dorothy
A. Becherer at Concordia Lutheran Church. He enjoyed working during his
lifelong career in the cable and telecommunications industry. Duane loved
being an active, faithful, lifetime member of Concordia Lutheran Church,
traveling, gardening, deer hunting with the Six Oaks gang, working on his
many projects, the lake and especially spending time with his family. He
will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Holly (Jason) Hanson of Eau
Claire; grandson, Parker; brothers, James (Joyce) Berg of Chippewa Falls
and Thomas J. (Marla) Berg of Marathon, Wis.; many brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Allan; and brother, Robert T.
Berg.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Concordia Evangelical
Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Frederick W. Theiste officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Funeral Home,
Golf Road (one block east of Highway 93), and also one hour prior to the
service at the church. Interment will be private.
Memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church or to donor’s choice.
