James K. Klawiter, 66, of Eau Claire passed away
Friday, July 13, 2007, with his family by his side.
He was born in Eau Claire on June 6, 1941, the son of Gerhardt and Marion (Garlie)
Klawiter. He graduated from Memorial High School with the class of 1959.
James married Romaine M. Stensrud on Sept. 16, 1961, at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau
Claire. He worked at Uniroyal until his retirement in 1993. James also drove part
time for Wisconsin Northern Transportation Company. He was a member of St. John's
Lutheran Church.
James enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his six children, Jodi (Larry) Duffy of Lawton, Okla., and their
children, Adam (Kathryn), David and Noah and great-grandchildren Valli, Katelyn,
Matthew, Connor, and Carleigh; Nancy (Robin) Bedell of Eau Claire and their
children, Andrew and Daniel; James (Michelle) of Phoenix and their children, Amber,
Brianne and Stephanie; Thomas of Chippewa Falls and his children, Shauna, Erin,
Brittney and Miah and great-granddaughter Zoey; Cheryl (Mike) Cornell of Eau Claire
and their children, Joseph and Nichole, and Bryan (Mindy) of Eau Claire; two
brothers, Gary (Cora) and Douglas (Jill) Klawiter of Eau Claire and many nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Romaine in 2003; his parents and his
great-granddaughter, Gwenyth Bedell.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at St. John's
Lutheran Church with Pastor Karen M. Hofstad officiating. Burial will be in Rest
Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8
p.m. on Monday, July 16, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to
services Tuesday at the church.
