Jerry Cleasby
Jerry E. Cleasby, 58, of Eau Claire died at Fall Creek Valley Nursing Home
on October 6, 1999.
Jerry was born Aug. 9, 1941, in Eau Claire to George and Vera Cleasby. He
was a lifetime resident of Eau Claire County. He farmed in Pleasant Valley
and was employed at Pope & Talbot, now Plainwell Tissue Co., for the past
38 years, retiring in April 1999. He was a member of the United Paper &
Pulp Union, Pleasant Valley Rough Rider Snowmobile Club and Birchwood
Bobcat ATV.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snow-mobiling and his cottage in
Birchwood. He loved football and the Green Bay Packers.
He died after a bout with cancer. He will be missed by all his family and
friends.
He is survived by Lorraine Kosakoski, special friend and companion of Eau
Claire; four daughters, Terry (Earl) Berg Jr. of Gilman, Kay (Bill) Layton
of San Antonio, Texas, Sandy (Greg) Neujahr of Gresham, Neb., and Kelly Jo
Duncan (Raymond) of Altoona; two brothers, Thomas (Chris) of Mondovi and
Richard (Donna) of Augusta; six grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews; and best friend Doug Dohms.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at Smith
Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Larry Borgelt officiating. Burial will be in
Rest Haven Gardens.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and an hour before services at
Smith Funeral Chapel. |
