Karen Helen Jorgensen

 

Karen Helen Jorgensen (Zutter), 83, of Maple Grove, Minnesota, formerly of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, passed away on May 29, 2024, in St Paul, MN. She was born on April 13, 1941, to Irene and George Zutter. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Donna Preston (Zutter).

Karen was a dedicated telephone operator, Hospice transcriber, and dental receptionist throughout her career. She graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School and was an active member of St John's Lutheran Church, where she found solace and community.

She was married to Jerry Jorgensen for 62 years and enjoyed raising a family in Waunakee, Wisconsin.

In her free time, Karen enjoyed cooking and spending time with her cherished friends. She volunteered at STEP Force for Eau Claire Mayo Clinic, Community Table, and visiting shut-ins through St. John's Church. She touched the lives of many through her acts of kindness and service.

Karen is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Jorgensen, her children Stacey Pincus, Jim Jorgensen, and their spouses, Dave Pincus and Lisa Jorgensen, her grandchildren Jack, Emily and Carter, her sisters Barb Wahl and Vicki Dowell, and many other relatives and friends.

Karen had a natural giving spirit, taking joy in helping others, and always wanted to be a part of the solution. She was a proud, loving mother and grandmother (aka Nana). She was second to none at nurturing her cherished family and friends. Everyone who met Karen felt a connection and always valued her listening skills and honesty. Karen's beautiful spirit will continue to live through future generations.

A service to celebrate Karen's life will be held at St John's Lutheran Church, 1804 Highland Avenue, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 11 am. Memorial visitation will take place at the church on that day from 9:30 am until the time of service. Private family inurnment will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire at a later date.
