Larry A.
Schaefer, 76, of the town of Lafayette, Chippewa Falls passed away
Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Aggie’s Country Living, Bloomer while under
the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice.
Larry was born October 6, 1941 in Eau Claire to Ervin Sr. and Jula (Ganong)
Schaefer. He was employed at PDM Bridge for 42 years as a welder and then
at O’Reilly Auto Parts delivering auto parts until his retirement.
Larry enjoyed watching the sunsets, fishing off the dock, and watching the
boats pass by from his home on Lake Wissota. He enjoyed taking trips to
his cabin, the occasional trip to the casino with his buddies, and
watching football, baseball, and golf. Larry had a passion for corvettes,
owning several himself, and enjoyed going to car shows whenever possible.
Larry is survived by his 2 sons, Tony of Chetek and Mark (Wendy) of
Chippewa Falls; 1 daughter, Shannon of Eau Claire; 3 grandchildren,
Camden, Mitchell, and Tanner; 2 great- grandchildren, Callie and Tristan;
1 sister, Margaret “Marmie” (Jim) Schambeau; 2 sisters-in-law, Marcie and
Roberta “Bobbie”; and many very good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Betty Dentice; 2
brothers, Gerald “Jerry” and Ervin Jr. “Turp”; and 1 great-granddaughter,
Alainah.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Aggie’s Country Living
and St. Joseph’s Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion given to
Larry.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 7 at
Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. Interment will be at
Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
Saturday at the funeral home.
