Phillip
Millwood
Phillip Millwood, age 75 died peacefully
in his sleep at his home after a lengthy illness on April 1.
He hitchhiked up the Alcan in November of 1965 and worked at the Pink
Poodle bar for several years before he became a crab fisherman for 2
seasons. He returned to Anchorage and married Donna Barrett in August of
1967.
Phillip was an artist, a fantastic cook, amazing carpenter, a Harley
Davidson enthusiast, and loved restoring his 1949 Ford coupe. He loved
great music and was always dressed to impress.
His father and mother preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of
48 years and his son Paul (Irina) and grandsons Maks, Evan and Alex;
Daughter Jennifer Gilroy (Michael) and grandsons Paul and Parker; Brother
Harry Millwood, Jr. of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Brother David Millwood of
Flippin, Arkansas; sister Kathy Hansen of Flippin, Arkansas;
granddaughters Fawna Tucker, Camai Millwood, and Jasmine Millwood, of
Michigan.
A celebration of his life for family and close friends will be held in
Anchorage, AK on Saturday April 9.
