Richard “Dick” P.
Holden, age 75, of Eau Claire, WI, died unexpectedly at his home in Eau
Claire on Friday, January 6, 2017.
Dick was born December 23, 1941, in Eau Claire to Ralph and Ione
(Peterson) Holden. He was a graduate of Memorial High School and went one
year to Vocational Technical Institute. He then went on to enlist in the
U.S. Navy. Dick married Betty Lou Cole on May 4, 1963, in San Diego, CA,
where Dick was stationed in the Navy.
Dick loved his time at his cabin on the lake near Menomonie where he kept
his motorcycle and boat. In the past, Dick enjoyed fishing and hunting. He
loved watching movies, especially Star Trek and Science Fiction movies.
Dick especially loved going to the Wilson American Legion where he had fun
socializing with his good friends.
Dick is survived by his son, Randy Holden of Milwaukee; one nephew, Mark
(Karen) Barstad; and two nieces, Brenda (Rod) Pederson and Julie (Bob)
Anderson.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ione (Peterson)
Holden; his wife, Betty; and one sister, Helen.
A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12,
2017, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral
home. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. Military
honors will be presented at the cemetery by American Legion Post 53 of Eau
Claire.
