Roger Little

 


 

Roger L. Little, 77, of Thorp, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis, Minn.

Roger was born August 25, 1939 in Greenwood, Wis., the son of Ora and Mae (Afkend) Little.

On February 27, 1960, Roger married Constance Smith at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Eau Claire.

Roger worked as a machinist at Gould Battery in Eau Claire and Maseland, Pennsylvania. He was also a member of the local machinist union.

Roger enjoyed fishing, hunting, the outdoors, working on old motorcycles, family get-togethers, playing scratch offs and slot machines, making strawberry and rhubarb pies, potato dumplings, telling good jokes, but most of all, he cherished spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.

Roger is survived by one son, Patrick R. Little of Chippewa Falls; three daughters, Cheryl R. Evans of Boyd, Michele R. Mikottis of Stanley and Melissa R. Jarocki of Thorp; two brothers, Kenneth Little of Thorp and Ora Little, II of Alaska; 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Constance on September 24, 2008; two sons, Brian and Michael Little; his parents; and two brothers, Albergene “Gene” and Gayhardt “Bud” Little.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 18 at Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls. Rev. Justin Kizewski will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Estella Cemetery in Estella township. Military rites will be conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 17 and from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls.
