Shirley Rude, age 74, passed away on Saturday, January 16th, with the comfort of her family by her side.

Shirley Ann Mittelstadt was born January 6, 1942 in Eau Claire the daughter of Wilbur and Kathleen "Billie" Mittelstadt. She was baptized, confirmed and a lifelong member of Epiphany Lutheran Church. Shirley graduated from Memorial High School in 1959.

She married John Edward Rude on October 24, 1970. They spent many years camping, fishing, playing cards and traveling. Shirley enjoyed volunteering for Mayo Clinic Health System and other organizations. She spent many years playing cards with her bridge friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her two grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Lissa (Chad) Dachel and grandchildren, Cayden and Katelyn, sisters, Patti (Merle) Nelson and Linda Schultz, sister-in-law, Carole Johnson and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband John and parents.

Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, Altoona, at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until the time of service.
