Claire, WI. He grew up in Eau Claire and attended Eau Claire High School.
He owned and operated Moore’s Texaco for many years and then was a valued
employee at Eau Claire Printing for many more. He found his love of golf
and spent numerous years working at Lake Hallie Golf where his fellow
co-workers/patrons were family to him. He loved to have all that were near
and dear join in his “Vernie Scrambles.” Vern had a passion for attending
area High School sporting events and attended so many with such pride.
Vern was a devoted father, grandfather and friend to many.

Vern was a very special person to a great number of people and left a mark
on every life he touched. His friends and extended families meant the
world to him and were too numerous to count. Vern’s lifelong loyalty and
impact at Lake Hallie Golf was immense. His wit, dry humor and mischievous
smile were part of the landscape there. He will be dearly missed by many.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at Lake Hallie Golf on Sunday,
February 16, 2014 beginning at 12:00 pm.
Remember that when you leave this earth, you can take with you nothing that
you have received….Only what you have given; a legacy of life and a
mountain of memories that will be shared for many years to come.
